Celebrating Tacos!!

Did someone say tacos?!?!?! It’s Jamie and I love tacos! Last Thursday, October 4, was National Taco Day in the United States!  In honor of National Taco Day, we are talking about some of the best places for tacos in Nashville. A couple weeks ago, I started celebrating National Taco Day early. To celebrate I went out and tried a few different taco places in Nashville.

12 South is full of popular coffee shops, many boutique stores, and many different restaurants, including Nashville’s famous Bar Taco. A big tourist restaurant, Bar Taco is known for tacos and tequila. It has a couple locations through out the United States, but only one in Tennessee. The restaurant has a very beachy feel with white walls, an outdoor eating patio, a bar in the center, and unique lighting. When it comes to the menu, you will not be disappointed. They have everything from tacos to rice bowls to “not tacos.” As a vegetarian, I really liked that their menu offered a significant amount of vegetarian options. There is something on the menu for everyone, including a menu made just for your little ones.

If you love simple, but good Mexican food, you will love Taqueria Del Sol. With a few locations in Tennessee and Georgia, the popularity of this restaurant keeps growing. Their menu contains six different type of tacos, a couple enchilada options, and three different soups. While their menu is not very fancy, it contains a lot of specialty items, including fried chicken tacos. My friend, who tried the fried chicken tacos, said they are the best. I really enjoyed their different vegetarian options. The Taqueria Del Sol on 12 South also has a full bar, for those over 21. With super-fast service and low-priced tacos, this is a perfect place for a college student on a budget or any tourist looking to try Mexican food in the south.

Taco Mamacita, just a short walk or scooter ride from Belmont University, is exclusive to Tennessee with a location in Nashville and one in Chattanooga. With over 15 different tacos on their menu, there is sure to be a taco for everyone, including two different vegetarian options. One of their most popular items isn’t even a taco: their Chicken Tortilla Soup is freshly made every day. I really enjoyed their vegetarian jerk and avocado tacos; avocados are the best! They advertise, “Fresh-Mex” and it tastes like it!

Well now I really want tacos!! That’s all for this weeks intern blog, stay tuned for next week’s post!
